Scope's 2024 features artwork from our 'In the Picture' project which called for more disability representation in children’s books.
In a campaign running from 2006-2009 Scope called on popular children's books illustrators to demonstrate how disabled children could be represented in book illustrations. We've pulled together the best of these illustrations in our new large square calendar.
Quentin Blake, who's work features in the calendar said at the time: "A picture book has an effect on a child not so very different from a good lesson. In The Picture will help reflect disabled children’s experiences, and all children will benefit. I am delighted to be involved.”
